Fun in the Summer Sun!!

Summertime is here and for us that means summer camp! We have camps at both studios (Savannah & Pooler) this year and we're just loving all the little artists we get to work with!! Summer camp is a fun time where we get a chance to work with a lot of kids at once, often with a wide range of ages and interests. Keeping projects fresh and interesting is a challenge we are happy to accept. Here are some of  my favorite projects and pics from camp so far!

Working Together! Each week we do at least one mural or collaborative work of art! Murals are a wonderful way to learn to work together and share ideas. Creating cardboard cities has been a camp favorite this year. Kids love art you can also play with.

Fixin Up the Studio!!!

We spent the last month renovating our Pooler studio! When we took over the space it was a mess! We cleaned, painted and got the studio up and running but had to wait to fully renovate. Most challenging was painting the dark brown ceiling white, but we got it done and we're thrilled with how much brighter our studio space has become. To celebrate we've planned a series of fun, free events! Check out pics of our  new studio and our upcoming events!!

Picture Books are the BEST! They are an important element to childhood. I still remember how affected I was by the story and illustrations of "The Five Chinese Brothers" and "The Stone Doll of Sister Brute". NPR has put together a list of the best children's picture books, take a look! And check out some cool picture book inspired artwork created at the studio.
