Each fall Scribble has an Art Show at Foxy Loxy Print Gallery & Café! I'm excited about this show all year. Not only is Foxy Loxy the best coffeehouse in Savannah but it's a great space to show in. We've done Sock Monkeys, Chicken Little, and Russian Stacking Dolls. The theme for our show this year is "Box Trolls"! I got the idea from Small Hands Big Art, http://www.smallhandsbigart.com/blog/featured-article/boxtrolls/.
I LOVED the box trolls I saw on their blog and we'd never done a show with 3-D Art before.
We started our Box Trolls last week and I'm excited about we've got going on so far! Most students have drawn and painted their trolls, now we're on to the sculpting. I've added the use of beans, pasta, and googly eyes to help add character to our trolls. We're using Celluclay http://www.michaels.com/activa-celluclay-instant-paper-mache/10515916.html instead of regular clay or paper mache. I'm a huge fan of celluclay since it takes detail so well!
Take a look at our in progress Box Trolls!
